My journey into design started early—sitting at a big old desk in my parents’ stained glass studio. Around age 6, I’d spend hours drawing “patterns” – (usually pictures of our house or the Solar System) , dreaming of becoming the main designer for F. H. Rood Stained Glass. My grand plan was simple: I’d sketch the patterns, Mom and Dad would transform them into stunning stained glass windows.

Toward the end of high school in 2008, my interests shifted toward graphic design and photography, starting with designing CD labels for my church’s media ministry. Soon after, my brother and I tackled rebuilding our church’s website, which quickly landed us our first paying client—another local church impressed by our work.
That early success led us to start Intelligent Design Website Design Studio in 2011. We learned a ton during those years, gaining valuable experience and forming relationships with clients, many of whom I still work with today. In 2015, after I got married, we decided to close the shop and went our separate ways – My brother went into construction and I started working at a local glassware and t-shirt printing shop.
In 2019, I launched Rood Company, getting back to my graphic design roots. Today, I focus on brand identity design, websites, and printed materials. With over 15 years of graphic design and photography experience behind me and inspired by my early days sketching patterns at that big old desk, I’m committed to helping businesses stand out.
